UCA SUMMER WORKSHOP 2024

Paste Paper taught by Judy Summerfeldt

Simi Sink Art & Walnut Ink Washes along with

a small book and layout ideas taught by Jane Hales

Watercolor Backgrounds taught by
Bonny & Tammy Harps

Scanning and Saving your backgrounds to be

used later taught by Jenice Jones

You will end up with several pages to use in your calligraphy or bookmaking arts, a digital file of your work, and a box to store them all in. All this and the

knowledge of how to create them on your own.

SUPPLIES TO BRING:
• Brushes:
   • 1inch Flat
   • Fan
   • Rounds of assorted sizes
• 2 water cups (one for clean water, one for changing colors)
• Spray bottle
• Paper towels

• Apron

• Bone Folder

• Pencil

• Any metallic ink you may alredy have...don't buy any...we will share!
• Natural sponge

• Micron Black Pen sized .01 or.02
• Water Color Paint and pallet
• Foam board a little larger than (9x12) paper
• 1-3”x5" clean kitchen sponge

• Masking tape- 1" wide or less - (can also use white artist's tape)

Some kind of surface to tape paper to...: the back of a cookie sheet, OR a piece of plexiglass, OR a piece of masonite OR a Dollar Store plastic placemat...use what you have.

• Marking tools
• Acrylic paints in basic colors will be supplied.
(If you want to bring some from your art stash that would be great)
• Thumbdrive for saving your backgrounds as digital files
