NOVEMBER MEETING. . .

Utah Cultural Celebration Center

You are invited to our Christmas Compendium 2022 with a beautiful oriental flair! Save the date of Saturday, November 5th from 10:00-2:00 at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. There is no charge for guild members, and guests ages 12 and up are invited for $5.00 per person.
There will be four
featured presentations:
- How to Make a Flutter Book - an accordion style book that could “flutter” in the wind
- How to do Etegami - a loose style of painting and writing with a Chinese brush, sumi ink, watercolors and/or colored pencils
- How to Carve Your Own Signature Stamp - called a Chop, to sign your Etegami paintings
- How to Wrap a Gift the Japanese Way - called Furoshiki, using fabric instead of paper
- We invite you to come and create, with the goal of completing and wrapping your finished product.
Please
Bring:
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Bone folder or an old plastic card
- Watercolors & brush/or colored pencils
- If watercolors, bring a welled pallet
- Waxed paper
- Glue stick
- Water cups
- Paper towels
- Carving tools if you have have them, or a nib holder to hold a carving tool
- Self-healing mat for carving
- Favorite pen that is water proof, such as a Sharpie marker.
- Apron
- ALL OTHER SUPPLIES WILL BE FURNISHED BY UCA
There will be a
refreshment table, but feel free to bring a treat to share as we have done in the past.
