THE POINTED PEN

Not only will we play with the pointed pen, we will learn how to make this beautiful origami envelope, just in time for Valentine's Day.
9:00 a.m. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER USED A POINTED NIB OR HAVE, BUT NEED MORE PRACTICE, Jane Hales will be teaching this and reviewing all in a beginning class from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
10:00 a.m. Our usual UCA meeting will begin. Those who took the 9:00 a.m. Beginner's Class will join us. After a welcome from our President, Jenice Jones, and any announcements, we will begin our Playing with the Pointed Pen taught by Faith Wadleigh
SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED:
- Oblique Pen Holder and a Pointed Nib
- Black Waterproof Ink (See * below)
- Practice Paper (marker paper works well)
- Compass
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Eraser
- Colored Pencils
- Watercolors & Brush
- Water Cup
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Bone Folder
- Paper Towels
- Waterproof mat to work on
- Apron
- Gold Gel Pen (Optional)
Other supplies will be furnished by UCA, including Master's Touch Marker Paper, Yasutomo Origami Paper and Neenah Premium Cardstock.
*Sumi Ink is not waterproof. It should say "waterproof" on the ink bottle. Waterproof is different than "water resistant."Several Inks available locally that are waterproof are Higgins Black Calligraphy Ink, Higgins Waterproof Black India Ink and Higgins Black Magic waterproof Drawing Ink. Michaels and Hobby Lobby carry these inks. Call first, their supply could be limited.
